Stake has secured registration to operate in Alberta's regulated online gambling market, adding a licensed Canadian province to the crypto-casino brand's growing regulated footprint.

Alberta is building out a competitive iGaming framework — following the model Ontario pioneered in Canada — that requires operators to register with the provincial regulator before offering online casino and betting to residents. Stake's registration means it can compete for Alberta players inside that regulated structure rather than from outside it.

The move fits a broader trajectory for Stake, a brand built on crypto and known globally for scale, steadily accumulating conventional regulatory approvals in mature markets. Entering a regulated province on the regulator's terms is a different proposition from operating under an offshore licence, and each such registration moves the brand further into the licensed mainstream.

For Alberta players, it adds a major international name to the province's regulated options. For the market, it's another sign that Canada's province-by-province licensing model is drawing the same large operators that populate Ontario — and that the regulated Canadian market is filling out faster than it opened.
